Fairchild plug acting up

Postby Mark Williams » Sat Feb 20, 2010 5:12 pm

Hi, group -

I searched "Fairchild" and came up with nothing, so if I'm asking something that has been previously answered, please direct my lame self to the appropriate search method.

That said, I have a UAD-1 PCIe in an early Mac Pro on which I usually run Nuendo 4.3. Having used my share of real (hardware) Fairchilds, UA stuff, and all, I have really enjoyed these excellent emulations of the real physical gear. For a particular project last year, i bought the Fairchild authorization for my card and have used it quite a bit since. However, first I saw the warning to skip using the mono version and now I'm having crunchy dropouts even in the stereo version. Generally these instances are using the stereo Fairchild on mono VST mixer channels, but that was not a problem before the last month or so.

Also, I was on OS 10.4.11 and just upgraded to 10.6.2 a few days ago, but the problems have not changed. This is a nice plug (and not cheap) so I'll be glad to hear any suggestions about how I can get it happy again.

Thanks,

Mark
