Demo ending way to early

Postby arno.n. » Mon Mar 15, 2010 2:42 am

Hi,
my demo period seems to be ending way to early. I've started the Massive Passive Demo on Saturday 13th in the morning - just the day after it came out. So today, on Monday 15th, there should be 14-2 = 12 days left. But from time to time the demo simply skips two or three days so that the remaining days went from 14 to 11 to 8 to 5 and now ONLY THREE MORE DAYS!!! (See attachment)
What is this? I want to evaluate the Massive Passive for 14 days, please!

I think the daylight savings time might have thrown it off.

That's not possible since the time has not yet been switched here in Germany (that'll be the last sunday in March). Besides that, the same phenomenon has also occurred with other plugin demos some time ago.

Hi Everyone...

The demo times are based on the system clock. If you change your system time in the middle of demo this can cause the demos on the UAD2 to count down more quickly ( time-out). As lux mentioned, if you are in a dual boot system ( or boot camp ) then the difference in system times can cause the UAD2 to count down as well. Other things like a dying battery on the mobo could cause this ( time 'hickups' because of power inconsistencies ).

On a purely theoretical situation I don't know what would happen if you were in a space craft approaching the speed of light... ( time shift causing demo 'time-outs'..???) And would using a UAD at light speed reduce latency??? ; )

Anywho... all kidding aside you can contact us here at UA Customer Support and we can issue you a demo reset file to get all your demos reinstated.

Well in your frame of reference time would tick at the same pace as always.
Although if you left your computer at home it would appear to time out "faster" :)
