d16's are buggy as hell.

Please UA do these right!

i just think these boxes are rinsed to death and the samples are all over the internet
(saw a 606 on a 2nd hand market in berlin for about 150 €)
dont get me wrong, i really like the sound of em, but today its easier to load the samples in a drumcomp ala battery and go..

i cant see any benefits for UA

thats why meh

I've never had any crashes with the D16 plugs. How are they buggy?

I know, but one can wish. Samples are nice, but you lose the subtle changes that happen for each drum hit. It's also easier to tweak the timbres with direct access to parameter knobs.

Nepheton does not work in host mode...the LEDs do not refresh fast enough. Just to name a few, after many bug fixes since the release. Their MIDI root note scale is messed.

my guess is that break-pitt makes rock or pop, so what would he care. If he made dance he would have a different attitude.

d16s X0X emulations are too good for UA to waste time coding brand new ones. d16 support is pretty responsive to bug reports.

Yes. These machines will never go out of use. I don't care if SOME people think they are SO beyond the 909...DW's don't fuckin' cut it for me.

Also, the 606 may cost around $400, but the 909 @ 808 go for $2000 a piece and are an INTEGRAL part of many Electronic genres. The 606 would just be "3 to get ready".

hey, thats not GS, no need to feel insulted
if you wanna praise those machines, fine, mark your thread that way,and im on your side
if you wanna discuss about those dc´s on the UAD platform, expect different opinions, simple
its not about elitism nor "SO beyond the 909", thats bs, if i came along that way,ok, that was not my intention
its about a kind of workflow, at least for me (and only that, bc the samples can be found everywhere and arranged in a way you cant with a original)...and that changed in the last 20 years, get me?
jamming on a 909 is fine, but i dont see the point in a UA 909 or 808 whatever without a dedicated hw-controller for the feeling
+ there are so many good clones, hw and sw wise, out there, that i THINK, noone needs another clone, even from UA.

8)

I didn't feel insulted. The DW thing was meant to be sarcastic.

BTW, I'm not praising THOSE machines, at least not anymore than UA's current plug lineup has gotten. The things you mention are comparable to claiming a mutli-sampled MOOG as being the same as the real thing.

IMO Roland sanctioned software clones would corner the market, but whos to say UA could even handle that task.

But d16 already did these machines and they did it right.
